Print vaccination cards and badges for your Elf on the Shelf

If your house has an Elf on the Shelf, we have some very 2021 accessories for you.

Sanford Health has created free printables with elf-sized COVID-19 vaccination completion charts — just like your kids can get at Sanford Health clinics — along with cut-out bandages, Sanford Children’s crowns, and badges that say, “I got my COVID-19 vaccine.”

There are two blanks on the vaccination chart to fill in with stickers, one for each dose.

That’s not only two days of elf activities down (more if you feel they need to rest afterward). It’s also one more way to celebrate your kids’ vaccinations or help them get ready for their vaccines.

The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older.

Research has shown that the vaccine can effectively protect you from contracting, getting seriously ill or dying from COVID-19 and its variants. The available vaccines have undergone rigorous testing to ensure their safety.

It’s important to prepare your child before going to the doctor, whether it is only for a checkup or getting their vaccines. Most children worry when they find out they are going to the doctor for a shot. It is important to be truthful and reassuring to help make their experience less stressful.

How to prepare your child for shots:

  1. Talk to them beforehand. Prepare younger kids right before and older kids further in advance.
  2. Tell the truth. Shots may hurt, but they will be over fast.
  3. Explain why. Vaccines protect kids from dangerous diseases.
  4. Your actions matter. Stay calm and keep your expression neutral.

You can schedule an appointment for your COVID-19 vaccination at Sanford Health whether you are a current patient or not. COVID-19 vaccines are offered without an appointment at select locations.
