Midwest Emmys honor Sanford Health storytelling

Sanford Health has earned a second Upper Midwest Emmy.

The organization earned six nominations in 2026. This is the first Emmy win for Sanford Health News multimedia journalist Jason Anschutz, who earned recognition from peers in television and media production for his work in the solo storyteller category.

Regional Emmy awards were presented during a ceremony on Oct. 17 in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Anschutz’s Emmy-winning entry, “Feeding tubes and found family,” is a compilation of three stories:

“I’m grateful that Sanford Health values quality storytelling, and I’m honored to be recognized for the work I’ve done by the Upper Midwest chapter,” Anschutz said after the announcement. “I’ve been doing this for 20 years, so this is extremely validating.”

This brings Sanford Health to 16 Emmy nominations and two wins in six years.
