COVID-19 Q&A: Dr. Suttle offers update on planning, testing

What has only been a month feels like nearly a year since our first sit-down interview with Sanford Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allison Suttle on what was — at the time — an epidemic of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Dr. Suttle sat down for a Facebook Live Q&A on April 5 to continue the conversation.

A lot has changed around the world, around the country and in our own community as this virus has spread and as we have learned more about it.

Through the past four weeks, Dr. Suttle’s message has remained clear: Avoid close contact with others and wash your hands.

The safety of our front line staff depends on it.

“We’ve been working tirelessly at Sanford to be ready for you. We take our responsibility as your health care provider very seriously,” Dr. Suttle said. “We want to make sure we have everything we need to keep our employees safe so they can focus on their job, which is helping you heal. I appreciate everything all of you are doing to stay home and stay safe. I can’t sleep at night worrying about my employees. Knowing you are staying home to stop the spread really helps. That is the best thing you can do to help your health care providers.”

To watch: Catch the full video on the Sanford Health Facebook page. Dr. Suttle talks about preparations and PPE, face masks, rapid testing and more.
