The Sanford Health News team has nabbed two Midwest Emmy nominations.
Reporter Matt Holsen and videographer Lonnie Nichols earned two Upper Midwest Regional Emmy nominations for Outstanding Military – Short/Long Form Content for the following stories:
- “Wings of Valor,” the Sanford Health-sponsored lodge where veterans get a break for the mind and body, and
- “Vaccinating Veterans,” about a Sanford Health and Veterans Affairs joint effort to get COVID-19 vaccines to rural areas.
SHN director Ann Nachtigal and SHN managing editor Katie Foutz also share the nominations with credit as producers.
“We feel honored to be among the distinguished nominees and blessed to share the story of Sanford Health’s commitment to veterans,” Nachtigal said.
SHN competed against the likes of Mayo Clinic and top-20 news organizations in the Midwest for the storytelling awards.
Award recipients will be announced at a ceremony Oct. 9 in Minneapolis. The televised ceremony will be streamed for online and mobile devices on the Upper Midwest Emmy YouTube channel and The Emmy App.
