The Sanford FIELDHOUSE, an indoor training facility at the Sanford Sports Complex, is now open and offering athletic-performance services and physical therapy for area athletes.
“As part of our mission of health and healing, we are excited to give people in the region the opportunities and resources to stay healthy,” said Eric Larsen, executive director of the Sanford Sports Complex.
The Sanford FIELDHOUSE is a premier indoor sports facility for local, regional and national athletic training, co-ed sports leagues and Sanford POWER Programs. Sanford FIELDHOUSE provides access to athletic performance development (Sanford POWER Program); comprehensive functional, physiological and biomechanical evaluations; and rehabilitation and nutritional consultation services.
“Our young people need more facilities to support their activities,” said Kevin Lampe, system vice president of Sanford Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. “The Sanford FIELDHOUSE provides the latest technology and finest staff for athletic performance and physical therapy for area athletes. We have created the premier facility for the needs of all athletes in the region.”
The Sanford FIELDHOUSE is located at the Sanford Sports Complex near Benson Road and Westport Avenue in Sioux Falls. It will house Sanford POWER, Sanford Sports Physical Therapy, Sanford Sports Medicine Outreach and professional services of the National Institute for Athletic Health & Performance. Through Sanford POWER, the FIELDHOUSE offers a variety of sport-specific academies such as Sanford POWER Baseball Academy, Sanford POWER-TIBBS Basketball Academy and Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy.
The Sanford FIELDHOUSE is 85,000 square feet with 62,000 square feet of field turf, which can be divided into four quadrants for multiple activities at a time. The facility also features four batting cages, offers multiple indoor adult sporting leagues and will be available for teams and individuals to rent for practice.
