Are you wanting to take your yoga practice to the next level?
For those of you who are interested in trying or are on the fence about Boga Yoga, the following are eight reasons why you should try this new class at the Sanford Wellness Center.
- Balance – Because Boga Yoga focuses a great deal on balance, you will need to focus. Focus on your breathing, placement of your feet or hands to maintain balance on the Boga mat.
- Core – When practicing yoga on a floating mat you will be engaging your and a whole bunch of other muscles in order to maintain balance on the mat.
- Challenge yourself – Yes, yoga on a floating mat is a challenge (I think that regular yoga is a challenge)
- You don’t need to have experience – The only requirement to be able to do Boga Yoga is that you have the ability to swim and can get on and off the mat from the water.
- Slow down – Sometimes we’re moving so fast trying to get to the next thing.
- It’s great to try with friends – Grab a few friends to try out this new class together. I guarantee there will be a few laughs throughout your session.
- Leave your ego at the door – It’s okay to not be perfect in every pose and it’s okay to fall into the water, dare I say even fun.
- It’s fun – Trust me when I say that Boga Yoga is really fun. You get to laugh with other as you try to find balance on your mat. Not to mention you get to try something new to the area.
