Rural health summit returns to Sanford Health

Sanford Health will convene some of the most dynamic and influential voices in health care, technology and business for an engaging and thought-provoking day of conversations that will push leaders to challenge the status quo and explore new strategies for transforming care delivery in rural America during a time of rapid disruption.

The 3rd annual Summit on the Future of Rural Health Care will take place Oct. 29 at the Sanford Barn in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It will also be livestreamed for journalists and the public to join.

Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, M.D., is confirmed as a keynote speaker. He joins several other diverse voices from across the health care ecosystem who will share forward-looking insights on some of today’s most pressing issues including harnessing technology and AI in health care, expanding access to high-quality, affordable and equitable care, and improving the health care consumer experience.

Bill Gassen, president and CEO of Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, will provide opening and closing remarks at the summit.

Last year’s event brought together health system CEOs, industry experts and prominent tech leaders for candid, wide-ranging conversations focused on reimagining the rural health care workforce of tomorrow. Nearly 200 guests attended the Summit in Sioux Falls and more than 3,700 streamed the event online.
