Good Samaritan CEO named vice chair of AHCA board

Good Samaritan President and CEO Nate Schema has been elected as vice chair of the American Health Care Association (ACHA) Board of Governors. AHCA is the nation’s largest association representing long-term and post-acute care communities.

Members of the AHCA Board of Governors are elected by the association’s governing body, the Council of States. The board held elections for the 2025/2026 terms at Delivering Solutions 25, the annual AHCA/NCAL Convention and Expo.

Schema has served on the AHCA Board of Governors since 2022, most recently in the role of executive liaison. He is the board’s not-for-profit representative and from 2022-2025, chaired the association’s not-for-profit council.

“I’m humbled and honored to begin my service as vice chair of AHCA’s Board of Governors,” said Schema. “It’s a privilege to represent and advocate for the 15,000 senior care communities we serve across the country. I will continue to elevate the voices of our providers and caregivers, champion forward-looking solutions and help shape a future where every individual has access to high-quality senior care.”

Schema’s dedication and leadership have led to a successful career with Good Samaritan. Prior to becoming president and CEO in 2022, Schema served in a number of roles within the organization, including nursing home administrator, associate director of operations, regional vice president of operations and vice president of operations. He also serves as a member of the Post-Acute Care Steering Committee with the American Hospital Association.
