Becker’s Hospital Review has named Sanford Health’s Erica DeBoer to the 2023 edition of its “Hospital and health system chief nursing officers to know” list.
This list honors chief nursing officers for their dedication to bettering their hospitals and health systems and directing efforts to ensure top quality nursing care. The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team accepted nominations for this list and curated it to highlight the exceptional work of chief nursing officers from hospitals and health systems across the nation.
DeBoer serves as the chief nursing officer at Sanford Health, which serves over a million patients and is the largest rural health system in the country. She has been instrumental in leading systemwide initiatives aimed at leveraging technology, AI and automation to solve for unprecedented nursing workforce shortages. She has also helped lead an expansion of workforce development programs to build a stronger pipeline of the next generation of caregivers through an enhanced collaboration with local universities and colleges.
“It is humbling to be included on this list of fellow chief nursing officers from across the country who are so devoted to the nurses in their system and the patients they are privileged to serve,” said DeBoer. “Our nurses are crucial to the success of Sanford Health, and I am grateful to work with an amazing, resilient team who love what they do and deeply care about their patients.”
