This story begins with the call many of us can relate to.
An elderly mother has not been seen or heard from in a couple days. Fearing the worst, a friend contacts her son and he tells the police to break in the door. They find an 86 year old woman on the floor of her small town North Dakota home, still breathing after three days without food or water. She had fallen and was injured. But thanks to great friends and great health care this woman survived.
When patient’s family members are so touched by our care they take a moment out of their busy day to come meet with staff. These are special times, and we won’t forget the heartfelt thank you from Don Patterson of Oakes, N.D., for the care of his mother at Sanford Health in Fargo. We’ll proudly display the letter as a reminder to all of us that the work we do every day has a tremendous impact on the people we serve. Thank you “Don the Dude” for sharing this moment with us. We hope you and your mom have many more years together as a family.
