| FARGO, N.D. – Construction has begun on a new Courtyard by Marriott located at the interchange of Veterans Boulevard and Interstate 94 to the west of the new Sanford Medical Center. Projected to open in September 2018, the nearly $15 million hotel project will have four stories and span more than 66,000 square feet. It will feature 110 rooms, meeting space, business center, 24-hour fitness center, an indoor pool and outdoor gathering space. The Courtyard Bistro will serve sit-down meals, grab ‘n go snacks, cocktails and Starbucks coffee drinks.
Brandt Hospitality Group of Fargo will be the operating partner of the hotel. Sanford Health will be a partner in the project having contributed the land – understanding the importance of having family and friends of patients close by, as well as the trend toward more outpatient medical treatment options. “Retail and service development in the neighborhood surrounding the new medical center has been incredible. We are so grateful to the many hotels that have been built near the new hospital that serve our patients and their families. We are excited for there to be another convenient option,” said Nate White, Sanford Fargo executive vice president. The hotel’s interior will incorporate healing design principles such as soothing colors and casual gathering spaces. The guest rooms feature plush bedding, stylish bathrooms and flexible workspaces. “This is a rapidly developing area of our community and the demand for hotel rooms is high. We also know this hotel will provide a place for family and friends of those in the hospital to relax and rejuvenate, and we’re excited to offer comfort and convenience to those guests,” said Steve Martodam, Brandt Hospitality Group.
