Sanford Health to host networking event for USD students

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Students from the University of South Dakota are invited to attend an exclusive networking event before the USD vs. Omaha men’s basketball game at the Sanford Pentagon on Feb. 7.

Sanford Health, in partnership with USD, will host the event beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Pentagon’s Three-Point Lounge. Students will have an opportunity to meet with hiring leaders from Sanford Health in both clinical and non-clinical fields. Sanford Health will have representatives in attendance from Sanford Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Sanford POWER, Sanford Marketing, Sanford USD Medical Center and more.

The event will have information regarding internships along with giveaways and food and refreshments. Students can also meet with former Sanford Health interns and learn about their experiences working for one of the largest health care systems in the nation.

USD students get into the game free with a valid student ID. Those student tickets will be available at the gates on the day of the game.

“This will be a great opportunity for not only the students at USD, but also for us at Sanford Health,” said Matt Ditmanson, director of business development for the Sanford Sports Complex. “The University of South Dakota does an outstanding job of preparing their students for life after school, and we are excited to meet the best and the brightest who will soon be entering the work force.”

On the court, the game between South Dakota and Omaha matches two teams vying for position in the Summit League standings. USD, led by first-year head coach Todd Lee and senior forward Trey Burch-Manning, currently sits in fifth place in the league. Omaha is having a bounce back year and is currently in third place in the standings. Senior guard Zach Jackson and head coach Derrin Hansen lead the Mavericks.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with tip-off at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.com, with special group rates available only by calling 605-312-7900 or by visiting the Sanford Pentagon Box Office. Midco Sports Network will broadcast the game live and in high definition.
