Senior Open winner Cejka commits to Sanford International

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The winner of the 2023 Senior Open Championship, Alex Cejka, has officially committed to competing in the Sanford International on Sept. 11-17 at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Cejka joins fellow PGA TOUR Champions golfers Chris DiMarco and Billy Andrade, who also committed to playing in the tournament.
Cejka is coming off a win last weekend at the Senior Open Championship at Royal Porthcawl Golf Course in Wales. He defeated Padraig Harrington on the second playoff hole to win the title. It was his third win on the PGA TOUR Champions and his second major. He also captured the 2020 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. With nine top-10 finishes to date in 2023, Cejka now sits in eighth place in the Schwab Cup rankings. Cejka’s best finish at the Sanford International was a T7 in 2021.
A three-time major winner on the PGA TOUR, Chris DiMarco returns to the Sanford International for his sixth appearance. DiMarco enjoyed his most success on the PGA TOUR during the early-to-mid-2000s where he competed in two Ryder Cup competitions and finished runner-up at the 2004 PGA Championship, 2005 Masters and 2006 Open Championship.
Andrade is a four-time PGA TOUR winner and three-time PGA TOUR Champions winner. This season the Rhode Island native has seven Top-25 finishes and is in 34th place in the Schwab Cup rankings. Andrade’s best finish at the Sanford International was a T16 in 2021.
