THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINN.Kyle Slaathaug, nurse practitioner, has joined Paul Anderson and Beth Peterick with the Sanford Health Thief River Falls urgent care team. His addition will further improve access for patients experiencing unexpected medical conditions that require immediate attention.

“Urgent care medicine has become increasingly popular because it provides convenient, flexible, high-quality access to health care,” said Tyler Ust, Sanford Clinic Director. “Our urgent care providers are able to see patients and have them on the road to recovery in as little time as possible.”

Sanford’s centrally located urgent care team provides fast, reliable care, without an appointment, for a wide range of common urgent medical concerns:
• Cold or flu-like symptoms
• Sore throats
• Earaches
• Fevers
• Pink, itchy eyes
• Rashes
• Urinary tract infections
• Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
• Cuts or minor burns
• Strains or sprains
• Minor broken bones or fractures

Urgent care, located at Sanford Thief River Falls Clinic, 3001 Sanford Parkway, Thief River Falls, Minn., is open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon. The urgent care clinic does not require an appointment and visits are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, unless another patient arrives with a more severe condition that requires immediate attention.

Urgent care is not meant to replace your primary care physician. Rather, it provides an alternative to an emergency room when the illness/injury is not life-threatening but needs to be addressed in a timely manner.
