SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Jordyn Pater, a registered nurse at Sanford Luverne Medical Center, recently received the Daisy Award earlier this month for her passion and commitment to patient care.

A nurse intern who worked alongside Jordyn last year nominated Jordyn for the Daisy Award. In Jordyn’s nomination the nurse intern said, “I watched as she took time with each of her patients, getting to know them and their families, making sure they never were in the dark or had unanswered questions. Jordyn showed me just how important the nurses of rural health truly are. I am so thankful for Jordyn’s knowledge and her willingness to teach me and help guide the next generation of nurses.”

The Daisy Award™ is an ongoing recognition program honoring the skillful and compassionate care nurses provide every day. Nurses are nominated by patients, families and colleagues.
