Sanford Health welcomes new POWER coach to Dickinson

DICKINSON, N.D. (August 16, 2022)
– David Murphy, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, has joined Sanford POWER in Dickinson, ND. David will be the head POWER strength and conditioning coach for Dickinson State University, leading the design and implementation of POWER training programs for the school and their athletic programs.

“All of us at Sanford are excited to continue investing in our youth through this valuable service in Dickinson and the surrounding communities,” said Mike Salwei, executive director of orthopedics and sports medicine at Sanford Health.

A North Dakota native, David graduated from Standing Rock High School. He received a Bachelor’s of Science from Northern State University in human performance and a Master’s of Science from North Dakota State University in health, nutrition and exercise science.

Prior to his new role in Dickinson, David interned as a strength coach and graduate assistant strength coach at NDSU.

Sanford POWER offers training that incorporates the latest in mobility, strength, speed, agility, plyometrics and explosive power development. Sanford POWER is the home of elite athletes such as NFL quarterback Carson Wentz, three-time Stanley Cup champion Matt Cullen and professional golf standout Amy Olson. POWER has North Dakota locations in Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks, as well as Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bemidji, Minnesota and Irvine, California, as well as a partnership with Dickinson State University, Dickinson High School, and Watford City High School.
