SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Sept. 27, 2021 – Sanford Health has been recognized by Forbes as the Best Employer in both South Dakota and North Dakota. The full list of best employers in each state can be viewed on the Forbes website.
“Our highest purpose at Sanford Health is taking the best possible care of our patients and residents, and to do that, we need to take the best possible care of our people, especially our frontline caregivers,” said Paul Hanson, president and CEO of Sanford USD Medical Center. “Throughout the pandemic, we’ve taken significant steps to invest in, recognize and reward our people for their contributions to our mission and those we serve.”
In 2021 alone, Sanford Health has invested more than $100 million across the organization in compensation increases for employees, in addition to a comprehensive program to support staff well-being and provide a caring and healthy work environment.
To determine the rankings for the third annual America’s Best Employers by State, Forbes partnered with Statista, a market research company, to survey 80,000 Americans who work at businesses with at least 500 employees. All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, including safety of work environment, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement among other areas.
“When someone joins Sanford Health, they become part of our family, and we do all we can to support their well-being, provide advance opportunities and competitive compensation,” said Hanson. “Our Sanford family has always been strong, and we don’t take their hard work and selflessness for granted.”
