EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. – Sanford East Grand Forks is hosting a free skin cancer screening on Tuesday, May 27.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The two most common types of skin cancer, basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, are highly curable, but can be disfiguring and costly to treat. Melanoma, the third most common skin cancer, is more dangerous and causes the most deaths. However, it is highly treatable if caught early.
Risk factors for skin cancer include sun exposure, tanning bed use, family history of skin cancer and unusual moles or spots.
To schedule an appointment for the skin cancer screening event, call 218-773-590o.
