Sanford Detroit Lakes Eye Center to celebrate new location

DETROIT LAKES, MN, Aug. 3, 2021 – Sanford Detroit Lakes Eye Center and Optical will celebrate its new location with a grand opening on Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 3 to 6 pm. The public open house event will include tours of the facility, refreshments and giveaways.
The new eye center is located at 1234 Washington Ave., Suite A, across the street from the Sanford Health Detroit Lakes Clinic and Same Day Surgery Center, where the eye center was formerly located. The move allows Sanford Detroit Lakes Dermatology & Laser Clinic to remodel and expand, with a completion date the end of September.
Staff began seeing patients at the new location on July 27, launching with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by staff and ambassadors of the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The experienced team at Sanford Detroit Lakes Eye Center and Optical includes two physicians, Gina Hansen, O.D., and Joy Quitberg, O.D. They both specialize in eye infections, glaucoma, ocular disease, refractive conditions and vision therapy. In addition, Steven Anderson, M.D., a Sanford ophthalmologist who provides outreach services in Detroit Lakes, will also see patients at the new facility.
“We are excited about our new eye care facility! We will provide the same great care but in brighter, updated location,” said Dr. Quitberg.
Sanford Detroit Lakes Eye Center and Optical provides a wide variety of eye care services, including:
- eye surgery and ocular disease treatment
- prescriptions for contact lenses and eyeglasses
- routine eye exams
- specialty prescriptions
