BISMARCK, N.D. (Sept. 26, 2024) –Sanford Health is inviting high school students this fall to events centered around exploring careers in health care. Throughout each event, students will get an up-close look at health care careers, allowing them the opportunity to explore their interests and ask questions to people working within the industry.

Sanford Health is hosting its first high school conference on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the North Dakota Gateway to Science, located at 1600 Canary Ave. in Bismarck. Students can experience a day of health care career exploration with hands-on sessions, Sanford Medical Center tours, and keynote speakers. There is no cost to attend.

“This is a great opportunity for students to ask questions and have conversations with professionals about a career in health care,” said Wendy Kopp, chief of nursing, Sanford Bismarck. “When we invest in our youth through open conversations about health care careers, we’re helping to build a future where compassionate, skilled individuals will care for and strengthen our communities.”

Sanford Health and the University of Mary invite high school students to a virtual health career summit on Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The free event will be hosted virtually over Zoom and give students the opportunity to meet professionals from more than 20 health care careers and learn about educational pathways. The number of participants is limited.

Sanford Health is also offering a MedX health care career exploration program for high school juniors and seniors in Bismarck-Mandan and surrounding communities. Locations will vary.

The program will run from 6-8 p.m. on the following days:
