OMAHA, NE, August 17, 2021 – The Nebraska Health Care Association announced today that Aimee Middleton, Executive Director for the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society – one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of senior care and support services – has been chosen by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) for a selective national program for emerging leaders in long term and post-acute care. Middleton will join AHCA/NCAL’s Future Leaders program, a year-long development program that offers training and guidance for industry professionals.

“Now more than ever, we need to build a pipeline of diverse leaders for our profession,” said Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “Our profession has been through the most challenging year, and we need dedicated, up-and-coming leaders to continue to innovate and improve long term care. We are excited to work with Aimee and help her develop her career and passion for serving our nation’s seniors.”

As the Executive Director for the Good Samaritan Society, Middleton is responsible for overseeing operations at 32 locations in Nebraska, Kansas and Tennessee.

“Aimee’s leadership has been instrumental over this past year, traveling near and far to help support locations throughout the pandemic,” said Randy Bury, President and CEO of the Good Samaritan Society. “Aimee’s compassion and operational expertise have made all the difference as we’ve worked to navigate the challenges of the pandemic. We are very proud of Aimee being chosen as Nebraska’s representative for AHCA/NCAL’s Future Leaders Program and she will represent our organization very well.”

AHCA/NCAL developed the Future Leaders program in 2004. Selected participants demonstrate both leadership potential and represent the interests of state and national long term care providers. The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction, and leadership. The year-long program kicks off with a two-day symposium held each year in Washington, D.C. This year’s symposium will take place September 28 – 30, 2021.
