The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society will share how it has identified and implemented opportunities with parent company Sanford Health to develop new care delivery models that increase access to services and reduce disruptions for residents at the 2023 AHCA/NCAL Quality Summit in Grapevine, Texas May 22-24.
For long term care and post-acute care providers, the Quality Summit provides programming designed for quality practitioners at all levels and includes such topics as Baldrige criteria, workforce retention, diversity, equity and inclusion, quality improvement, survey/regulatory and more.
The Quality Summit features sessions led by industry experts, including Heather Herlyn, MS, RN, CPHQ, director of quality and safety for the Good Samaritan Society. Titled “A Catalyst for Innovation is in Your Backyard,” Herlyn’s session will provide insights into how the Good Samaritan Society, together with Sanford Health, has harnessed opportunities to unlock greater innovation and enhance quality care.
“The needs of seniors are comprehensive and evolving, so finding innovative ways to deliver care and sharpen your facility’s performance is a key to providing the best possible experience and outcomes for residents and staff,” said Herlyn. “Attendees will take away new ideas on how to work with hospital partners to improve the patient and resident experience, and get an insider’s look at how acute-care programs can be applied in post-acute care settings.”
Since joining forces in 2019, Sanford Health and the Good Samaritan Society have unlocked innovations to improve seniors’ access to care, enhance quality care, and engaged clinical teams in new ways. In 2021, Good Samaritan Society – Sioux Falls Village opened a home hemodialysis den, making it possible for residents to receive dialysis services without leaving home. It is the only skilled nursing-based home hemodialysis den in South Dakota.
