Bill Gassen, president and CEO of Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, will join a dynamic contingent of industry leaders in front of a global audience to discuss how Sanford Health is using virtual care to expand access to health care in rural and underserved communities.
HLTH Europe takes place June 16-19 in Amsterdam and includes 5,000 attendees and 350 world-class speakers representing more than 50 countries. HLTH Europe combines its successful events in the United States with the unique needs of the complex European health markets, creating one of the world’s most important events on health innovation.
Gassen will join Washington Post columnist Leana Wen for a main stage session entitled, “Bridging Access Gaps in Rural Care: The Power of Virtual Health.” From remote patient monitoring to training clinicians on telehealth, AI and other tech solutions, they will discuss the future of digital health and the innovations making high-quality care more accessible than ever.
“We are pioneering a new way of thinking — bringing care to our patients instead of expecting them to come to us for the care,” said Gassen. “I am looking forward to having a meaningful conversation with Leana about how we are embracing innovation and reimagining how we deliver world-class care to strengthen access, quality and sustainability in rural America.”
About HLTH Europe
“HLTH Europe brings together the brightest minds in health care to address the industry’s biggest challenges and opportunities on a global scale,” said Jon Weiner, founder and CEO of HLTH. “As we expand our impact, we’re fostering conversations that drive real change — like how virtual care can bridge access gaps and improve outcomes. We’re excited to welcome Bill Gassen and Sanford Health to this critical dialogue, as they continue to lead the way in reimagining health care delivery for rural communities.”
The state-of-the-art flagship center of Sanford Health’s $350 million Virtual Care Initiative, the Sanford Virtual Care Center, opened last November in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Virtual Care Center serves as a premier training ground for the next generation of clinicians. It is also home to the nation’s first accelerator center focused on AI and emerging technologies for rural patients.
The Sanford Virtual Care Center also offers a direct connection to Sanford Health’s satellite clinics, giving patients the option to get the care they need in person with more resources and expertise available virtually.
