Four Good Samaritan locations have been recognized as 2025 Silver – Achievement in Quality award recipients by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long-term care.
Good Samaritan long-term care locations receiving the award in 2025:
- Good Samaritan Society – Albion, Nebraska
- Good Samaritan Society – Howard Lake, Minnesota
- Good Samaritan Society – Fargo, North Dakota
- Ridge View Estates Assisted Living at Good Samaritan Society, Pipestone, Minnesota
“I am continually in awe of the amazing caregivers who make up Good Samaritan,” said Nate Schema, Good Samaritan president and CEO. “They have dedicated their lives to serving others, providing the highest quality of care and life to our nation’s seniors. Earning this award takes years of commitment and collaboration from every single team member. Having visited these centers and knowing their leadership, I can attest to the fact that high-quality care is more than a goal for these teams. It’s a daily expectation and is ingrained in every decision they make.”
The National Quality Award Program has three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At the Silver level, recipients have met the criteria for the Bronze award and can now move on to the final and most prestigious level of the program, the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award. Trained examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria.
Data shows, Silver- and Gold-awarded providers outperform the rest of the nation.
“Earning the Silver award is no small feat, and the Good Samaritan recipients have demonstrated exceptional commitment to quality improvement,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “This recognition is a clear reflection of their hard work and unwavering focus on delivering superior care and service to residents and staff.”
The National Quality Awards will be presented during Delivering Solutions 25, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, Oct. 19-22 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This year, just 142 skilled nursing locations and 31 assisted living locations earned a Silver Award across 40 states. Good Samaritan now has eight active recipients of the Silver Award, with these four locations joining the skilled nursing locations in New Hope, Minnesota; Le Mars, Iowa; Jackson, Minnesota; and Brainerd, Minnesota.
