Sanford Health’s weight management system has helped its members lose more than 1 million pounds. Profile by Sanford’s members, which now total nearly 50,000, reached the milestone across its 25 locations in 10 states.
Built on clinical research and advisory oversight from Sanford physicians and researchers, Profile uses meal-replacement products, nutritionally complete food and health coaches to provide a sustainable and healthy means to weight loss.
Profile opened its first store in 2012 in Sioux Falls. It quickly grew—in retail store fronts and members—to more than a dozen locations in states outside of Sanford’s footprint like Indiana, Kansas Tennessee andTexas. That growth was accompanied by enhanced food options and state-of-the-art technology that simplifies the weight management process.
“We started with 50 pilot members in an old car dealership building,” said Rich Adcock, executive vice president for Sanford Health. “Today, we have members in nearly every state and three countries who have experienced the effectiveness and ease of the Profile system by visiting their local storefronts or using Profile Anywhere from their living rooms or offices.”
Profile’s food-product line has progressed to include healthy options for noodles, soups, pizza, salad dressings and unique entrees.
Technology has also improved to help members better monitor their health. Activity trackers, smart scales, blood-pressure monitors, pedometers and digital tape measures use wireless technology to seamlessly report valuable information to web and mobile applications and back to Profile coaches between visits. Members, in fact, can work with coaches exclusively over technology if they desire.
Profile’s corporate-owned locations are complimented by a franchise site in Lincoln, Nebraska. Later this spring, franchise stores will open in Omaha, Nebraska, and Sioux City, Iowa.
