SIOUX FALLS, S.D., July 15, 2020 — Williams and Ree, one of the longest-running musical and comedy acts in the United States, will perform at the Sanford Pentagon at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1. A limited number of tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 23. Local, opening acts will be announced later.

Humor for Heroes featuring Williams and Ree presented by Sanford Health is being held to thank the community’s essential workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety guidelines and protocols will be followed during the event.

Businesses interested in purchasing a sponsorship package that would involve a donation of tickets to the community’s essential workforce should contact Troy Giegling, vice president of business development at the Sanford Sports Complex, at 605-312-7900.

Williams and Ree began performing together in the late 1960s after meeting at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. During their 50-year career, they have played shows with Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, recorded multiple albums and earned a Country Music Association vocal duo nomination. They have headlined thousands of shows at fairs, festivals and casinos and recently performed at the Grand Ole Opry.

About the Sanford Pentagon

The cornerstone of the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is the Sanford Pentagon, a 160,000-square-foot, five-sided facility featuring nine basketball courts, including the 1950s/1960s-inspired Heritage Court. The venue combines state-of-the-art amenities — including high-definition video boards and executive suites — with period-specific finishes that are a nod to the nostalgic days of basketball.

The 3,200-seat Pentagon is home to Sanford POWER Basketball Academy, Sanford POWER Volleyball Academy, the NBA G League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women’s and Men’s Basketball tournaments and the South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
