Sanford Health makes way for new West Fargo clinic

On Thursday afternoon, Sanford Health started demolition of its former West Fargo, North Dakota, clinic at the corner of 13th Avenue and Sheyenne Street to expand parking and green space for its new facility next door. The demolition is expected to be completed over the weekend.

“While providers, employees, patients and West Fargo residents have a fondness for the old clinic and its history, we are all excited about the brand-new clinic next door,” said Susan Jarvis, vice president of operations for Sanford Fargo. “Today, we’re just here to say goodbye to a place that served its purpose and to thank everyone who has been involved with this clinic over the years.”

Sanford West Fargo Clinic began as the site of the West Fargo Medical Center. The medical center originally was started in 1948 by Dr. Roy Kulland, who moved the medical center to its current location in 1969. Through the years, the clinic changed hands and became part of the Sanford Fargo network of neighborhood clinics.

The new Sanford West Fargo clinic has opened at 1220 Sheyenne St. — right next door to the former clinic.

Sanford West Fargo clinic will host a public grand opening event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours and refreshments.
