Two Sanford hospitals ranked No. 1 in Dakotas

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. —For the third consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for 2023-2024 ranked Sanford Medical Center Fargo the No. 1 hospital in North Dakota and Sanford USD Medical Center the No. 1 hospital in South Dakota.
The annual U.S. News & World Report rankings are published to help patients decide where to receive care. U.S. News evaluates data on nearly 5,000 hospitals in 15 adult specialties and 21 adult procedures and conditions.
Sanford USD Medical Center received high-performing rankings in three adult specialty areas, including gastroenterology and gastroenterology surgery, orthopedics, and pulmonology & lung surgery.
In urology and gastroenterology and gastroenterology surgery, Sanford USD Medical Center ranks as one of the top in the nation when comparing those specialty services with health care systems across the country.

Sanford USD Medical Center is also rated high-performing in 13 procedures and conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, colon cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, heart bypass surgery, heart attack, diabetes, kidney failure, back surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia.
Sanford Medical Center Fargo ranks as one of the tops in the nation in urology and is rated high-performing in 10 procedures and specialties, including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, colon cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, kidney failure, hip replacement and knee replacement.
