Thief River Falls nurse honored with nursing award

THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINN. — Sanford Health Fargo’s nurses and staff were recognized for their unwavering dedication to providing excellent care for their patients and communities during Sanford’s Nursing Recognition Event this month.

Lisa Olson, LPN, received the Star of Nursing Award. The award recognizes exceptional nurses in the first two years of their nursing practice who have demonstrated passion for their newly chosen career through involvement in our nursing organization.

“Nursing is a truly noble profession, and it takes a special kind of person to answer the call,” said Janell Hudson, director of nursing and clinical services, Sanford Thief River Falls. “I have no doubt Lisa will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of those around her throughout her career.”

The Nursing Recognition Event is an annual event for Sanford Health. This year’s event, held at the Delta Hotel in Fargo, North Dakota on May 11, honored 29 nurses and other health care professionals in eight categories. A record 717 nominations were submitted for 2023 honors.

National Nurses Week is acknowledged by health care organizations and the American Nurses Association annually.
