SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Sanford USD Medical Center has been named to the Becker’s Healthcare list of “Great Hospitals in America.” The Sioux Falls medical center is the only hospital in the state of South Dakota to be named to the list.
Sanford shares the list of 100 great hospitals with healthcare systems of high caliber across the country, including Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Mayo Clinic.

Hospitals on the list are recognized based on clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation efforts, research, medical education along with many other qualities. Recently, Sanford USD Medical Center was ranked as the No. 1 hospital in South Dakota by U.S. News & World Report for the sixth year in a row.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on analysis of ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report’s rankings, Newsweek, Healthgrades, CMS star ratings and others.
