SIOUX FALLS, S.D. —The Sanford USD Medical Center has been recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026 by Newsweek. The Sioux Falls hospital was ranked 85th in Cancer Care, 122nd in Neurological Care, and 134th in Gastrointestinal Care.
The America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care ranking recognizes the leading hospitals in the U.S. across seven medical specialties, featuring a select number of top facilities in each field. The methodology behind the rankings incorporates expanded safety and quality indicators, including data from The Leapfrog Group, alongside accreditations and CMS measures. Reflecting the evolving landscape of specialized medicine, it provides a rigorous, trusted guide to help patients and families find high-quality care with confidence.
This is the second honor Sanford USD Medical Center has received from Newsweek this year. In March, the facility was named as one of the World’s Best Hospitals.
“This is another tremendous honor from Newsweek and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our providers, caregivers, and staff,” said Andy Munce, president and CEO of Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. “Our goal has always been to provide each patient with world-class care and this recognition shows that we’re continuing to fulfill that commitment.”
