MANDAN, N.D. – Sanford Health is expanding access to convenient, same-day care in the Mandan community with the addition of the Sanford North Mandan Walk-In Clinic, scheduled to open Sept. 1, 2026, at 910 18th St. NW.
The new walk-in clinic will be the first dedicated Sanford walk-in location in Mandan, providing patients with a convenient option for non-emergency care close to home.
“Expanding access to care remains a priority for Sanford Health,” said Jake Mellmer, vice president of operations, Sanford Bismarck. “The Sanford North Mandan Walk-In Clinic will make it easier for patients in the Mandan community to receive timely care for unexpected illnesses and minor injuries, with extended hours designed to meet the needs of busy individuals and families.”
To support the new service, a portion of the existing Sanford North Mandan Clinic is being renovated to create dedicated walk-in care space. The clinic currently offers family medicine, lab and imaging services, including mammography.
The remodeled area will include exam rooms, new provider offices and a nurse’s station. While the walk-in clinic will share a waiting room with primary care services, designated clinical space previously used for appointment-based family medicine visits has been allocated to support walk-in operations.
Unlike traditional primary care clinics that may offer limited same-day appointments, the Sanford North Mandan Walk-In Clinic will be specifically staffed and equipped to provide walk-in care for a variety of common health concerns, including:
- Allergies and hay fever
- Back pain
- Bladder infections (UTIs)
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Headaches and migraines
- Nausea and vomiting
- Pink eye and eyelid infections
- Rashes and sunburn
- Other minor illnesses and injuries
The clinic will offer expanded hours consistent with other Sanford walk-in locations in the region:
- Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Holidays: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
These extended hours are intended to improve access to care during evenings, weekends and holidays when primary care offices may have limited availability. Patients can continue to receive appointment-based primary care services from existing Sanford North Mandan Clinic providers.
The Sanford Health Bismarck Region provides health care to central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota. It includes 26 clinics in Bismarck, Mandan, Minot, Dickinson, Williston and Watford City, as well as a Level II trauma center located in Bismarck.
