Sanford to conduct COVID-19 vaccine appointments at mall

FARGO, N.D., Feb. 5, 2021 – Sanford Health will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine Friday, Feb. 5 at a new location within the Moorhead Center Mall in the former Furniture for Less space.
Only Sanford patients in Minnesota who have a confirmed appointment will be able to enter the vaccination center. Walk-in vaccinations will not be available. One adult visitor may accompany a patient who needs assistance.
This central location at 420 Center Ave., Moorhead, Minnesota, offers easy access, ample parking and space to vaccinate patients while safely adhering to face mask and physical distancing guidelines.
Sanford plans to have three registration desks and three bays to administer vaccines, plus a waiting area for patients to be observed for 15 minutes afterwards. Patients can enter through the southwest mall entrance just north of Thai Orchid.
Sanford also established a COVID-19 vaccination center for North Dakota patients inside the former Gordman’s in Fargo. Patients going there must also have a scheduled appointment.
How soon people will be able to receive the vaccine depends on the amount available and where people fit in to each priority group. Priority groups are set by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the each state’s department of health. Priority groups are established based on occupation and those with certain health conditions as they are most at risk for COVID-19. People at high risk will be prioritized first.
Sanford patients should not contact their doctor’s office to schedule an appointment. Sanford Health will notify patients through a My Sanford Chart message, a letter and a voice message or text message when they are eligible to schedule their vaccine appointments. All patients are encouraged to enroll in a My Sanford Chart account if they do not already have one, by visiting mysanfordchart.org. Patients will also be able to schedule an appointment through My Sanford Chart, after they have been notified to do so.
