Sanford Rock Rapids offering pediatric COVID-19 vaccines

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Nov. 9, 2021 — Sanford Rock Rapids will host vaccination clinics to protect children 5 to 11 from COVID-19.
Vaccines use the body’s natural immune system to safely develop protection against a disease. The Pfizer vaccine for children is a two-dose vaccine, given 21 days apart and is a third of the dose given to adults.
Sanford will host pediatric vaccine events at the Sanford Rock Rapids Clinic on the following dates:
- Tuesday, Nov. 9, 5-6 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 11, 5-6 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 13, 9-11 a.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 16, 4:15-5:15 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 18, 4:15-5:15 p.m.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is approved for children 5 to 11, following an authorization from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) earlier this week.
Parents and guardians can schedule appointments for their children ages 5 and up through My Sanford Chart or by calling (712) 472-3333. Appointments and masks are required.
Sanford Rock Rapids Clinic is located at 104 Buncombe Dr, Rock Rapids, Iowa.
