SIOUX FALLS, S.D., May 13, 2021 — Sanford Health is now vaccinating those 12 years of age and older with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the Food and Drug Administration approved the recommendation earlier this week. The authorization allows the Pfizer vaccine to be administered in people 12 years old and older.

Patients are encouraged to call their Sanford primary care clinic to schedule an appointment for the COVID vaccine or schedule through My Sanford Chart. Individuals do not have to be Sanford Health patients to receive the vaccine from Sanford.

If you have general questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, or are not a Sanford patient and would like to schedule an appointment, please call the My Sanford Nurse line at 800-445-5788. My Sanford Nurse is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For more information on the COVID-19 vaccine, or to find the nearest Sanford location offering the vaccine in your community, visit sanfordhealth.org and click on “COVID-19 Vaccine Info” at the top of the page.
