WAHPETON, N.D., July 14, 2021 – Sanford Health Wahpeton Clinic will host sports physical blitzes to ensure young athletes are fit and ready to play for the upcoming school year.

The sports physical blitzes will be held at the Sanford clinic at 332 Second Ave. N. in Wahpeton, North Dakota, by appointment, on the following dates and times:

· July 20 from 9 a.m. to noon with Mary Isom, PA-C

· July 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. with Brooke Hills, APRN, CNP

· August 3 from 9 a.m. to noon with Cheri Berge, APRN, CNP

· August 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. with Patrick Emery, MD

To schedule a sports physical exam, please call 701-642-7000.

During a sports physical, the provider looks at health issues that could arise during the game or in practice. Sanford providers check the child’s basic health, look for cardiovascular and lung problems, evaluate old injuries and answer any health care questions.

The sports physical provides an educational opportunity for both student athletes and parents. Sanford providers explain how to recognize signs of concussion symptoms and other sports injuries, recommend stretching routines and offer tips for healthy eating.
