SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The evolution of improving population health, increasing access to care and leveraging data for a personalized patient experience are some of the topics Sanford Health Plan leaders are set to discuss during a series of panels and roundtable discussions at the upcoming Becker’s Payer Issues Roundtable.

The two-day conference takes place April 3-4 in Chicago. Sanford Health’s John Snyder, president and CEO of Sanford Health Plan, and Emily Griese, Ph.D., vice president of operations and population health, will join executives from the nation’s top health systems and insurance companies.

Snyder will participate in a panel with the chief medical officer of Stanford Health Care Alliance for a discussion entitled: “The Era of Medicare Advantage: Opportunities and Challenges Still Ahead.” The panel will be moderated by Paige Twenter, writer for Becker’s Healthcare.

Our goal is to improve care outcomes, lower costs and create a differentiated member experience.”

Snyder will also take part in a three-person panel to discuss the top issues for health plan executives. He will be joined be leaders from Highmark Health and Wellframe. The panel will be moderated by Jakob Emerson, associate news director and payer editor at Becker’s Healthcare.

Griese is also one of three speakers on a panel that focuses on key opportunities around virtual-first health plans. Leaders from Oscar Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will join her for the discussion that will be moderated by Claire Wallace, writer for Becker’s Healthcare.

Sanford Health Plan has implemented an innovative new program to utilize virtual preventive care visits to risk adjust ACA members. This helps engage members in their health care journey by connecting them with primary care providers.

“At Sanford Health Plan, we are committed to breaking down health care and insurance coverage barriers for rural communities by offering virtual solutions to meet the needs of our patients and members,” said Griese. “We are focused on behavior change.
