SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — October is National Physical Therapy Month, and this year it also marks the 10th anniversary of outpatient rehabilitation services at Sanford Wellness Center – Tea Ellis location. Physical therapists at the Tea Ellis location have provided quality therapy services during the more than 40,000 appointments since the rehab center opened its doors in 2012.

“For the past decade, this location has served as a convenient option on the west side of Sioux Falls for the thousands of people in our community who trust Sanford Health with their physical therapy and outpatient rehab needs,” said Sue Christensen, director of therapy and rehabilitation at Sanford Health.

The Tea-Ellis location is also celebrating new growth. Newly renovated, repurposed space has added nearly 1,000 square feet to the therapy area, doubling the size of the previous space. Staff at this location has also doubled with the addition of two full-time physical therapists.

“We are thrilled to be expanding in space and staff,” said Jami Dalchow, manager of outpatient rehabilitation at Sanford Health. “Staffing four physical therapists at this location will allow us to treat more patients and enhance our offerings as the need for rehab services continues to grow.”
