Sanford Health Bismarck to host vaccine event Dec. 21

BISMARCK, N.D., December 14, 2021 – Sanford Health will hold a flu and COVID vaccine clinic Tuesday, Dec. 21, from 3-5 p.m. at the Native American Development Center, 2403 E. Thayer Ave.

Children ages 6 months to 18 years old will be able to receive their flu vaccinations and the COVID-19 vaccine will also be available for children 5 years and older. Masks are required for patients and visitors.

The Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the Food and Drug Administration to be administered to patients 5 years old and older.  Second doses and boosters will be available.

The flu shot is available for healthy adults and children, including pregnant women. The nasal mist flu vaccine will not be available at the vaccination events.

Appointments are recommended but not required for this event. To schedule an appointment, call 877-701-0779 or visit sanfordhealth.org. Individuals do not have to be Sanford Health patients to receive vaccinations.

Face masks are required and patients who receive a COVID-19 vaccine will be observed onsite for 15 minutes after receiving a vaccine. All Sanford employees will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while interacting with patients and administering flu vaccines. The most common side effects are injection site pain, soreness and swelling.
