Sanford Health announces plans to open clinic in Grand Forks

FARGO, N.D., Aug. 25, 2020 — Sanford Health has announced its intent to open a new clinic in Grand Forks, North Dakota to meet the growing demand for its services in the area. The new location on the southern end of the city will complement the clinics Sanford established in East Grand Forks over the past two decades.
The new clinic will open at 17th St. and 47th Ave. South near Edgewood Village in the southern part of Grand Forks, which is quickly expanding with businesses and new homes into one of North Dakota’s fastest-growing communities. An opening is targeted for the spring of 2021.
This first phase of a planned multi-specialty care expansion will be a 22,000-square-foot space for 15 primary care and specialty care providers.
Currently, Sanford has a clinic in East Grand Forks with 27 providers representing 14 primary and specialty care services. Sanford Home Care is located at 404 DeMers Ave. in East Grand Forks. Also, Sanford HealthCare Accessories, which opened locally in 2018, and Sanford Profile, which opened locally in 2017, both have retail stores in Grand Forks.

Sanford will continue to provide the comfort of a hometown clinic, along with the variety of services a larger community like Grand Forks deserves. The new clinic is an extension of the care we have provided here for 20 years.”
Sanford has a long history of steadily growing its primary care and specialty services to the greater Grand Forks area and surrounding communities. Before merging with Sanford Health, MeritCare opened the first clinic at 621 DeMers Ave. in 2000. In June 2007 expanded services at 929 Central Ave. in East Grand Forks.
The merger of Sanford Health and MeritCare in 2009 spurred a bevy of new construction projects and growth in specialty offerings throughout the region, including its networks of regional clinics and hospitals across the upper Midwest.
In 2011, the Sanford East Grand Forks Clinic expanded again, growing its services at 621 DeMers Ave. — right across the parking lot — to provide occupational medicine, physical therapy and outreach services like cardiology, oncology, urology and surgical consultations. In 2012, the location added a walk-in clinic.
In 2016, the Sanford Health East Grand Forks Clinic expanded at 625 DeMers Ave. to include its occupational medicine clinic. The latest expansion was 2019 at the 621 DeMers Ave. location and included adding 3D mammography.
