SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Nov. 8, 2021 — Sanford Clear Lake Clinic will host a vaccination clinic to protect children 5 to 11 from COVID-19. The event will be Thursday, Nov. 11 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Vaccines use the body’s natural immune system to safely develop protection against a disease. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is approved for children 5 to 11, following authorization from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It’s a two-dose vaccine, given 21 days apart and is a third of the dose given to adults. Another event will be held to give second doses to those who receive their first at this mass vaccine event. Other future vaccine events will also occur.

Parents and guardians can schedule appointments for their children ages 5 and up by calling (605) 874-2141. Appointments are preferred and masks are required. A parent or guardian must be present at the clinic when the child receives the vaccine.

Sanford Clear Lake Clinic is located at 701 Third Avenue South, Clear Lake, South Dakota. Learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine.
