BISMARCK, N.D. – Sanford Bismarck has announced the launch of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) to improve the patient experience. This initiative is an important step in strengthening our commitment to addressing the needs, concerns and experiences of patients and their families.
The PFAC is a collaborative group of patients, their family members and health care staff dedicated to improving a variety of health care experiences. Council members will meet regularly to discuss their health care experiences, identify opportunities for improvement and provide input on hospital initiatives as needed. With a diverse group of members, the PFAC will provide valuable insights that support a more complete and collaborative approach to enhancing local health care.
The primary purpose of the PFAC is to foster a partnership between health care providers and patients in the Sanford Bismarck Region, ensuring that patient voices are heard in the decision-making process. The group will have an opportunity to assist in identifying patient care areas that need enhancement and offer feedback on key organizational initiatives, such as patient safety and communication. The PFAC will collaborate to develop educational resources for patients and families.
The Bismarck Region PFAC is open to anyone in the Bismarck, Mandan, Minot, Dickinson, Williston and Watford City community and will work with Sanford Bismarck leadership, clinicians and staff. Ideal PFAC members are passionate individuals who want to share their experiences and partner with our care teams to improve the patient experience. Sanford invites all interested community members to learn more or apply here.
The Sanford Bismarck region provides health care to central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota. It includes 26 clinics in Bismarck, Mandan, Minot, Dickinson, Williston and Watford City, as well as a Level II trauma center located in Bismarck.
