Sanford announces two construction projects in Bismarck

BISMARCK, N.D., Oct. 26, 2020 — To meet the growing need for health care in the region, Sanford Health in Bismarck is in the middle of investing $200 million in the community to enhance patient care. Today, the health system is announcing two new construction projects.
Construction recently started on a new Same Day Surgery Center in downtown Bismarck. The new surgery center will be located on the corner of 7th Street and Broadway Avenue, inside the former Sanford Seventh & Broadway Clinic.
The newly renovated space, called Sanford Broadway Same Day Surgery Center, will be designed for six operating rooms and 19 prep and recovery rooms. It will provide a state-of-the-art space for patients to receive same day surgery and will ultimately reduce hospitalizations and increase patient convenience.
“We believe in the downtown strategy of Bismarck,” said Dr. Michael LeBeau, president of Sanford Health in Bismarck. “These projects are part of our long-term vision of investing in patient care and growth as Sanford continues to be the destination for health care in central and western North Dakota.”
Sanford is also announcing the expansion of the Sanford Children’s North Clinic in Bismarck. The clinic will expand into space next to Sanford Children’s Therapies, located at 809 W. Interstate Ave., adding 22 exam rooms.
When the expansion is complete, the Interstate Avenue campus will grow to three buildings that will house children’s services.
“We opened up our initial children’s clinic in 2013 to meet the growing health care needs due in part by the Bakken oil boom,” said Dr. LeBeau. “Today, we have outgrown that clinic space as we continue to provide pediatric and specialty care to the region.”
Sanford Broadway Same Day Surgery Center and the Sanford Children’s North Clinic expansion are expected to be complete in the summer of 2021.
