SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Nov. 4, 2021 — Sanford Aberdeen Clinic is organizing a COVID-19 vaccine event just for children ages 5 to 17 from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Based on authorization from the CDC and FDA, kids older than 5 can receive the Pfizer vaccine to protect themselves against COVID-19. This vaccine for kids is a third of the dose given to adults. Patients can receive their first dose at this special clinic on Nov. 13 with their second dose 21 days later on Saturday, Dec. 4.

“This is a big milestone to protect our young patients. Data shows this vaccine to be safe and effective and continues to be the best tool to protect our families from severe infection of COVID-19,” said Bisma Arbab, M.D., pediatrician at Sanford Aberdeen Clinic. “We hope families take advantage of this convenient clinic on Nov. 13 to ensure their kids stay healthy and in school.”

Appointments are required for this vaccine event at the clinic in Aberdeen. Patients can call 605-226-5500 to schedule one or they can make one through My Sanford Chart. The vaccines are free for patients. Masks must be worn in the clinic.
