Denny Sanford Premier Center installs breastfeeding pods
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., March 5, 2020 — Denny Sanford Premier Center, with the help of Sanford Health, is taking steps to support breastfeeding moms who attend events at the Premier Center and Convention Center in Sioux Falls.
Two breastfeeding suites will be placed on site to provide nursing mothers with a clean, dignified and private space.
“We recognize the need for this type of assistance for women who attend the many events held at Denny Sanford Premier Center and Convention Center,” says Premier Center General Manager Mike Krewson. “Thanks to a partnership with Sanford Health, it is now possible to give them an appropriate solution to their needs.”
One nursing suite will be located in the Premier Center while a second suite will be placed in the Convention Center. The suites are portable, and their location will be adjusted as event demands require.
What’s inside a nursing suite?
The suites were created by Mamava, a company dedicated to transforming the culture of breastfeeding by making it easier for more women.
The Mamava suites are a self-contained, mobile pod with comfortable benches, a fold-down table, an electrical outlet for plugging in a breast pump and a door that can be locked for privacy. The 4-by-8-foot pod is meant for individual use but can fit more than one person, such as mothers with babies and other children in tow.

Reserve the breastfeeding suites by installing the Mamava app, visiting the Premier Center website or scanning a QR code found on signage at Denny Sanford Premier Center. The app shows users where the suites are located and provides a code to enter on a key pad located on the front of each suite.
