Pediatric neurosurgery outreach to Rapid City

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Shawn Vuong, MD, neurosurgeon at Sanford Neurosurgery and Spine Clinic in Sioux Falls, will begin providing pediatric outreach services at Black Hills Pediatrics.

Starting in early February, Dr. Vuong, the only board certified pediatric neurosurgeon in South Dakota, will provide outreach services one day a month at Black Hills Pediatrics. He will be scheduling office visits and patient consultations at Black Hills Pediatrics. He will not be doing surgeries.

Dr. Vuong specializes in treating Chiari malformation, trigeminal neuralgia, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors and cancers, scoliosis and pediatric hydrocephalus. He graduated from University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and completed his residency in neurosurgery from University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
