BISMARCK, N.D., Oct. 13, 2021 — Due to weather concerns, Sanford Health is moving its drive-up flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Oct. 13 from the MDU Resources Community Bowl to the Robert A. Kuntz Physical plant, located on the Bismarck State College campus at 1613 Edwards Ave, from 12-6 p.m.

Appointments are highly recommended but not required. To schedule an appointment visit sanfordhealth.org or by using My Sanford Chart. Individuals do not have to be Sanford Health patients to receive vaccinations.

Face masks are required and patients who receive a COVID-19 vaccine will be observed onsite for 15 minutes after receiving a vaccine. All Sanford employees will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while interacting with patients and administering flu vaccines. The most common side effects are injection site pain, soreness and swelling.

The Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the Food and Drug Administration to be administered to patients 12 years old and older. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine has been approved for those 18 years old and older.

The flu shot is available for healthy adults and children, including pregnant women. The nasal mist flu vaccine will not be available at the vaccination events.

Patients who do not wish to attend a drive through vaccination clinic can schedule an appointment with their primary care provider or visit a Sanford Health walk-in clinic to receive the flu and COVID-19 vaccine.
