New Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo set to open

FARGO, N.D. – The Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo is relocating from the Sanford Broadway Clinic to the Sanford Broadway Medical Center.
The new location, located off the main patient entrance on the north side of the Sanford Broadway Medical Center, opens on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and features a dedicated destination for breast health, bringing key services together in one location to create a more seamless and coordinated patient experience.
“This center was thoughtfully designed with both patient comfort and staff workflow in mind,” said Andrea Kaster, M.D., Sanford Fargo breast health physician. “Its layout helps our teams work efficiently and collaboratively while creating a welcoming, supportive environment for our patients. By bringing these breast health services together, we can better support patients from their first appointment and throughout their breast health journey.”
The new Edith Sanford Breast Clinic will feature:
• 12 exam rooms
• 6 breast ultrasound/ultrasound biopsy and procedure rooms
• 5 mammography/mammography biopsy and procedure rooms.
• Advanced technology for earlier detection, including new contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) capabilities that provide another tool to identify breast cancer, particularly in women with dense breast tissue.
• Coordinated, multidisciplinary care delivered by a team of breast specialists, radiologists, nurses, sonographers, mammographers and nurse navigators working together on behalf of each patient.
“The new breast clinic significantly increases our capacity,” said Kerry Stevens, M.D., Sanford Fargo diagnostic radiology physician. “We have grown from seven to 12 exam rooms. From four to six breast ultrasound and procedure rooms and from four to five mammography and procedure rooms. The additional capacity will allow us to serve more patients while giving our teams the space they need to provide efficient, coordinated and high-quality care.”

Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo conducted 13,517 mammograms and 2,061 biopsies in 2025. There were 397 breast cancer diagnoses at Sanford Fargo last year.
