Sanford Health names new Bismarck region president

BISMARCK, N.D. –- Michael LeBeau, M.D., vice president of clinics at Sanford in Bismarck, has been named as the new president of Sanford Bismarck. Dr. LeBeau has been with Sanford Health for more than 10 years, specializing in kidney care as a nephrologist.

The New Town, North Dakota, native has been instrumental in the organization’s growth in central and western North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks and currently serves on the Sanford Board of Trustees.

“I am excited for this opportunity to lead the Bismarck region of Sanford Health,” said Dr. LeBeau. “Being a North Dakota native, I am passionate about the communities we serve in central and western North Dakota. Sanford has provided great outreach to the communities we serve and I look forward to enhancing the care and access we provide our patients.”

Craig Lambrecht, M.D., who has served as the Bismarck region president since 2011, has accepted a new role and will be joining Kalispell Regional Healthcare in Kalispell, Montana, as its president and chief executive officer.

During his time with Sanford Health, Dr. Lambrecht led Medcenter One through the Sanford Health merger in 2012 and has set the Bismarck region up for success. Since that merger, the operation has increased providers by 77 percent, expanded care and outreach in numerous communities in central and western North Dakota, developed strong community partnerships and continues to serve as the only Magnet designated health care system in North Dakota.

“My time at Sanford has been both exciting and rewarding,” Dr. Lambrecht said. “Health care is such a vital part of a community. As a leader, my goal has always been to provide quality patient care and access to central and western North Dakota and Sanford’s commitment to our region has far exceeded my expectations.”

The Wishek, North Dakota, native started his career in 1983 when he joined the North Dakota National Guard as a second lieutenant and served for more than three decades, including serving two tours in Iraq as the senior medical officer.

Dr. Lambrecht has been with Sanford Health for more than 27 years and served as president of the Bismarck region for the past nine years.
