NAIA Basketball Classic returns to Sanford Pentagon

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Oct. 29, 2020 – The Sanford Pentagon will host Dakota Wesleyan University, Mount Marty College, Presentation College, the Valley City State University’s men’s team and the Dickinson State’s women’s team Nov. 7-8 in the fifth annual NAIA Basketball Classic.
The classic features eight games over two days and acts as a season kick-off for the five schools, giving them an opportunity to display their talent early in the season. The two Great Plains Athletic Conference teams (Dakota Wesleyan and Mount Marty) will compete against the North Star Athletic Association teams (Presentation, Dickinson State and Valley City State).
“The NAIA Basketball Classic is a great event to begin an incredible schedule of basketball at the Pentagon.” says Jesse Smith, vice president of the Sanford Sports Complex. “It is always special to see schools from the Dakotas play on Heritage Court, and it is fun to welcome back the collegiate athletes who played here during their high school prep careers.”
Masks are required for all spectators. The Sanford Pentagon will work closely with the schools and be ready to adjust based on guidelines and safety measures for all involved.
Tickets are on sale now and available by calling the Sanford Pentagon Box Office at 605-312-7900. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are a limited number of tickets on sale for each day. Each ticket is good for the entire day. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for students in kindergarten through college.
Fans will not have access to the main level of the facility and will be separated from all athletes and coaches. The wooden bleachers on each end zone line will be reserved for team athletes and coaches.
